“And we all, with unveiled face,
beholding the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image
from one degree of glory to another . . .”
(2 Cor. 3:18, ESV)
I stand with an unveiled face.
I look in the mirror in the quiet of the morning
And I wonder . . .
Lord, is it You I see?
Can Your reflection shine
In spite of the thick, smudged glass?
But even when I can’t see clearly,
I know You are changing me,
Transforming old into new.
Healing all the broken parts.
Little by little,
Your glory radiates into my life,
Not in quick glances I cast Your way
Or in moments stolen here and there.
It’s in the constant yearning for more of You.
Because ‘beholding’ is not a result of striving.
It’s a result of letting go.
In Your presence,
Your glory sinks deep into every part of me.
But only when I am empty.
Only when the unnecessary things are purged.
Only when the walls come down.
In the raw, empty spaces,
You do Your greatest work.
Your glory moves freely
And transforms the ugly
Into a radiant reflection of You.
I stand with an unveiled face,
Trying not to shatter the mirror
With self-imposed rules
And valiant efforts.
I open wide my eyes,
My arms,
My life.
Come change me.
Rain down glory
Soft and hard,
Wild and wonderful.
Show me You,
Deep in the mirror of my soul.
I stand with an unveiled face . . .

Bill is working very hard, but secretly he loves it. I’m still weak and easily exhausted. Bill has been wonderful about picking up the slack for me. The hardest thing for me is not being able to drive more than a mile or two.
Our love to you all!.
